“My cousin Brody 'BJ' Brown has been missing since last night," Senator Tindell posted on his Facebook page yesterday. "He was last seen about 9:30 at Muddy Joe’s in Hancock County. This picture was taken just beforehand. If you have seen, heard, or know anything please report it to authorities.”

Brown, a career offshore-man, was camping this weekend with his family at an RV park north of Kiln.

Both Sean Tindell and his missing cousin's wife say the 34-year-old family man's abrupt disappearance and continued lack of contact is highly out of character.

"It’s not like him at all to go somewhere without staying in touch," they informed reporters on Monday, noting that there was a final "ping" off Brown's cell phone which is still being investigated.

Dogs will be employed in today's search for BJ Brown and aerial searches are planned as well. In the meantime Senator Tindell says "people have been out on their four-wheelers" hoping to find the father-of-two still alive and safe.

Brody 'BJ' Brown is a full-bearded, athletic Caucasian adult male. Anyone who knows where he is or who has information about his sudden disappearance should contact the Hancock County Sheriff's Office at (228) 466-6900, or 911.

  2. UPDATE 3/8/16: The family of missing man Brody 'BJ' Brown has offered a $10,000 reward for information that helps locate him or leads to "the arrest" of anyone who was a party to his disappearance.

Police however insist "no foul play" is suspected yet in Brown's unsolved missing-persons case.

Today, more searchers and canines are assembling on the rural Mississippi campgrounds where BJ Brown inexplicably vanished Saturday night while heading for the bathrooms, but so far only his hat has been recovered from a nearby pond.

A law enforcement spokesman also confirmed that a large, dry "hole" was discovered on the property yesterday. He said it was further excavated and explored, but "nothing was found" there.

    1. At this conjecture, Darren, if Brown's disappearance wasn't staged, then the M.O. does appear identical to previous 'Smiley Face Killer' cases. (Scope has been enlarging over the past few years, here and abroad.)

    3. Thank you, Amanda. How deep is the pond? Is there a steep decline right near the shoreline? I'm confused that he wasn't able to get out of the water if he stepped in accidentally. I'm not familiar with this pond/lake.

  7. UPDATE 3/09/16 p.m.: We regret to inform our readers that the body of missing offshore-man, Brody 'BJ' Brown, floated to the surface of a pond today known locally as 'Tranquility Lake.'

Just to assure observers: If he did indeed drown on the evening he vanished, his refloat this morning is within the expected range, factoring in both water and air temps.

However, an autopsy will now be performed to determine Brown's precise cause of death, and the police investigation into how he actually entered the water and died there is ongoing.

In the meantime -- R.I.P. -- and condolences to BJ's loved ones and friends.

  8. Unbelievable.. This man goes to the restroom and drowns in a lake? Is this what we're supposed to believe? No foul play? Unless the water IS the restroom im not buying it.. Strange! I pray the autopsy reveals more answers than questions.
